Dry start for Mayo before rain arrives on Thursday

Mayo is set for a largely dry start on Thursday, October 1, before rain moves in during the afternoon and evening.

The morning will bring a mix of sunshine and cloud, with temperatures gradually rising to around 14 degrees.

However, conditions are expected to become more unsettled as the day progresses, with showers developing during the afternoon and continuing into the evening.

Southerly winds will become breezier at times, particularly along the coast, while temperatures will remain relatively mild.

Thursday night will stay unsettled, with further showers and overnight temperatures of around 11 degrees.

Looking ahead, Friday is expected to bring a mixture of bright spells and showers, some of which could be heavy, before conditions become mainly dry on Saturday.
