Mayo TD meets Barnardos for launch of annual report 2025

Sinn Féin TD for Mayo, Rose Conway-Walsh, met with Barnardos children's charity as it launched its Annual Report 2025, highlighting the growing needs of families across Ireland. Barnardos also outlined its Budget 2027 asks to Government to take measures to lift more children out of poverty.

Barnardos delivered 72,954 in-person sessions for children and parents across Ireland in 2025. The charity worked with more than 34,000 children, parents and adults and reports a record waiting list of 3,023, a 31% increase on the previous year. Barnardos urges the Government to introduce targeted income supports for children at most risk of poverty and to increase funding for the voluntary and community sector to ensure earlier access to services for families that need support.
