Rain set to sweep across Mayo tomorrow

Mayo is set for a wet and unsettled day tomorrow (Thursday), with rain and drizzle spreading across the county during the morning and becoming persistent for much of the day.

According to the latest Met Éireann forecast, Thursday will be cloudy with rain and drizzle moving in from the west during the morning.

The rain is expected to remain persistent through much of the day before becoming more patchy during the evening.

The heaviest and most persistent rain is expected across western and northern parts of the county.

Temperatures will remain relatively mild, with highs of between 13 and 15 degrees.

Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest initially but will freshen as the rain arrives.

There are currently no weather warnings in operation for Mayo for Thursday.

The outlook for Thursday night is for further outbreaks of rain, drizzle and mist, with conditions potentially becoming heavy and persistent at times in the west and north.
