Celtic Cup coarse angling competition comes to Mayo
INTERNATIONAL anglers are visiting Kiltimagh this week to compete in the Celtic Cup 2026.
Featuring Ireland, Scotland and Wales, the Celtic Cup International Coarse Angling Competition is taking place at Derryhick Lough from today (Thursday) to Sunday next.
Up to 40 international anglers will be based in Kiltimagh over the coming days as they compete for the Celtic Cup.
And there’s an extra reason for the people of Kiltimagh to get behind the event.
Kiltimagh's Jason Ward is the manager of Team Ireland and also organiser of the competition, bringing this international event to his home community. Jason is also treasurer of Kiltimagh Tourism Association and is putting Kiltimagh and Mayo on the international sporting map.
The competition runs until Sunday, with the two main match days taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Spectators are welcome at Derryhick Lough, so come out and support the teams.
