Mayo FC welcomes €1 million Budget boost for academies
Mayo FC has welcomed the Budget announcement of an additional €1 million for the League of Ireland Academy Investment Programme.
In a statement, the club said investment in youth football is vital to the continued growth and development of the game in Ireland.
“As a club committed to providing opportunities for young players across the West of Ireland, this continued support is hugely important in strengthening our academy structures,” the club said.
It added that the funding will help develop clear pathways for players in both the boys’ and girls’ game.
Mayo FC thanked Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan TD, Minister of State Charlie McConalogue, Minister Jack Chambers, the Government of Ireland, the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and Sport Ireland for their continued commitment to investing in the future of Irish football.
