KFC franchise operators propose drive-thru at Mayo retail park

MBCC Foods (Ireland) Limited - the operators of the KFC franchise - are planning to open a new restaurant and drive-thru in Castlebar.

An application for planning permission at the Castlebar Retail Park on Breaffy Road has been lodged with Mayo County Council.

Permission was previously granted for a drive-thru restaurant at the location but it wasn't implemented and has subsequently expired.

The development includes the removal of 52 existing car parking spaces at the retail park.

The proposed restaurant is predicted to provide employment for seven part-time and six full-time staff.

Proposed opening hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, consistent with the established commercial nature of Castlebar Retail Park and reflecting the hours associated with the previously permitted development.
