Gardaí seize fireworks and cannabis herb in Mayo Halloween clampdown

Gardaí in Mayo have seized assorted fireworks, valued at €4,600, and cannabis herb, valued at €2,000, in an intelligence led operation jointly conducted by the Divisional Drugs Unit.

The detections were made during the implementation of Operation Tombola, the nationwide policing plan focused on the prevention and detection of the sale of fireworks and associated public order and anti-social behaviour issues during the Halloween period.

Both the fireworks and cannabis are subject to analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
