Mayo set for sunny and settled weekend

Mayo is in for a largely dry and bright Saturday, with Met Éireann forecasting plenty of sunshine as more settled conditions arrive across the county.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, will begin on a chilly note, with some patches of mist and fog possible during the early morning.

These will gradually clear to leave a dry, crisp day with sunny spells developing across Mayo.

Temperatures are expected to reach between 10 and 13 degrees during the afternoon, accompanied by light northeasterly or variable breezes.

Saturday night will remain dry but turn noticeably colder under largely clear skies.

Temperatures will fall to between 1 and 5 degrees, potentially reaching freezing locally, with patches of mist, fog and frost developing.

Looking ahead to Sunday, the settled conditions are expected to continue, with early mist and fog clearing to leave another dry day with plenty of sunshine.

Afternoon temperatures will again reach between 10 and 13 degrees.

High pressure is expected to dominate the weather over the coming days, bringing a welcome spell of dry and settled conditions following recent wet and windy weather.
