Mayo set for wet Tuesday as heavy rain moves in later in the day

Met Éireann is forecasting a change in conditions across Mayo tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, with a largely dry start giving way to rain later in the day.

Tuesday morning is expected to be cold but mostly dry, with any lingering mist or fog clearing as the morning progresses.

Cloud will gradually increase throughout the day, with rain developing in the southwest before extending into western counties during the afternoon.

Some of the rainfall could become heavy and persistent, particularly later in the day and into Tuesday night.

Temperatures in Mayo are expected to reach around 12 degrees, with breezy conditions at times, particularly along Atlantic coastal areas.

Rain is expected to become more widespread during the evening and overnight, with temperatures falling to approximately 6 to 9 degrees.

Looking further ahead, Wednesday is expected to bring a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, along with blustery conditions.
