Known for her dynamic artistry and genre-defying performances, Mari Samuelsen has captivated audiences worldwide through her distinctive interpretations and innovative programming. For this special performance, she joins the RTÉ Concert Orchestra to perform Vivaldi Recomposed: The Four Seasons by Max Richter, a bold and imaginative reworking of Vivaldi's beloved masterpiece.

Retaining echoes of the original while transforming it into something entirely fresh and contemporary, Richter's celebrated work has become one of the most popular classical compositions of recent years. In the hands of Samuelsen and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, audiences can expect an unforgettable musical experience filled with beauty, drama and emotion.

The programme also features a selection of minimalist contemporary works by some of today's most celebrated composers, including Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass and Hania Rani.

Pärt's Fratres ("Brothers") unfolds through a mesmerising landscape of reflection and emotion, while Glass by Hania Rani (© Bosworth Music GmbH) offers a kaleidoscopic exploration of the sound of strings. Philip Glass's Echorus, which the composer described as being "inspired by thoughts of compassion", brings a sense of serenity and contemplation that runs throughout the evening's programme.

Combining the artistry of Mari Samuelsen and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra with the majestic surrounds of Knock Basilica, this promises to be a truly memorable evening where music, architecture and atmosphere come together in perfect harmony.
