Illegal fireworks seized in Mayo garda operation

GARDAÍ have seized illegal fireworks in north Mayo.

Members of the Mayo Divisonal Drugs Unit, working alongside gardaí attached to the Ballina Community Engagement Area, seized a quantity of illegal fireworks as part of ongoing efforts to protect the local community.

The seizure, a garda spokesperson said, highlights the importance of community engagement and cooperation in tackling the possession and misuse of illegal fireworks.

Illegal fireworks can pose serious risks to public safety, causing injuries, fires and distress to members of the community.

Gardaí are encouraging the public to report any information relating to the sale, possession or misuse of illegal fireworks.
