Serious overcrowding at Mayo hospital, operations cancelled
A total of 23 patients are left without beds at Mayo University Hospital today.
Seven are on trolleys or chairs in the emergency department while 16 are in wards elsewhere.
Meanwhile, many patients have also been informed this week that planned operations are cancelled indefinitely due to the pressures on-site.
Nationally, 720 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch. 491 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 229 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
