Mayo set for brighter Halloween evening as rain clears
MAYO is set for a damp start to Halloween before conditions improve later on Saturday, according to the latest Met Éireann forecast.
Tomorrow, Saturday, October 31, will see scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle lingering across Atlantic counties, including Mayo, during the morning.
The rain is expected to become increasingly patchy as the day progresses, with some late sunny spells developing across the northwest.
Temperatures will reach highs of between 12 and 15 degrees nationally, with light southeasterly or variable winds.
Conditions are expected to improve in time for Halloween festivities, with a largely dry evening forecast for Mayo as cloud begins to break.
Saturday night will bring cooler conditions, with temperatures dropping to between 2 and 9 degrees nationally.
The north and west will experience the lowest temperatures under clearing skies, while mist and fog may develop in places.
Looking ahead to Sunday, November 1, Met Éireann is forecasting a largely dry day with sunny spells and afternoon temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
The settled conditions are expected to continue into the early part of next week, with high pressure bringing generally dry weather and light winds.
