Mayo solar installations triple in two years

Mayo is placed 17th of the 26 counties in Ireland for home solar installation.

That's according to a county-by-county report by Solar Quotes Ireland based on SEAI's figures.

A total of 15.6 homes in every 1,000 got grant-aided panels in 2024.

Galway is in sixth place at 19.2.

On sunshine alone, the same system at the same price pays back in about 6½ years in both counties.

Mayo installs still nearly tripled, from 288 in 2022 to 812 in 2024.
