Renewed gardaí appeal in Mayo homicide investigation

GARDAÍ in Mayo have today launched a fresh appeal for information as the first anniversary of the death of Joe Deacy approaches next Monday.

Joe (21) was found seriously injured at Gorthnasillagh, Swinford, on Saturday August 12, 2017, by a passing cyclist.

A native of St Albans, England, he was transferred to Mayo University Hospital and later to Beaumont Hospital Dublin, where he died on August 13, 2017.

The gardaí are treated the case as homicide.

A substantial reward is offered for information that may lead to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible for Joe’s death.

Gardai are appealing to people who have seen Joe between 1.30 a.m. and 6.45 a.m. on Saturday August 12, 2017, to come forward to assist them with their ongoing investigations.
