Passing of much-loved Castlebar woman

THE death has occurred of Bridie Harney (née Heskin), 13 Marian Row, Castlebar.

In her 95th year, the news of her passing has evoked an immense sense of loss in the community.

A native of Muckersaune, The Neale, Ballinrobe, she was held in high regard by her neighbours and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Mickie, she was actively involved in Castlebar Apostolic Work for many years and was a loyal supporter of Oxfam.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Rose Field (New Jersey), son-in-law Burgess, nephews, nieces, cousins, great-grandneices, great-grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympahy is tendered.

Bridie was the last surviving member of her family of 15.

Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul takes place in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, at 12 noon, on Sunday followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.

Due to the HSE and Government guidelines the funeral at all stages will be private for family only.
