FIANNA Fail HQ has confirmed that a convention will be held in Castlebar on Saturday evening to select a candidate to replace newly-elected Deputy Lisa Chambers on Mayo County Council.

Three candidates have been nominated for co-option ahead of next Monday's specially convened county council meeting.

They David Gallagher and Martin McLoughlin from Castlebar and Marty O’Hora from Kiltimagh.

Voting will get underway at 7 p.m. at An Sportlann.
