Death of former Castlebar ICA member

THE death has occurred in Clane, Co. Kildare, of Catherine (Kitty) Howley, Turlough Road, Castlebar, and late of Moneen, Castlebar.

The deceased was a much-loved personality who was actively involved in the community life of the county town for many years.

She was a dedicated member of the local ICA Guild and stood as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the Castlebar Urban Council elections back in the late 1970s.

The deceased was held in very high regard and news of her passing came as a great shock to everybody who knew and admired her.

Deepest sympathy is tendered to her family: Maura, Joan, Rita, Claire, Michael and Eamonn, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael.

Her remains will be reposing at Coady's Funeral Home this evening (Monday) from 6 p.m. with removal to the Church of the Holy Rosary, to arrive at 8 p.m.

Burial takes place in the New Cemetery, Castlebar, tomorrow (Tuesday) following Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
