Death occurs of Mayo's oldest man
THE death has taken place at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar, of Anthony Kilbane, Atlantic Drive, Cloughmore, Achill.
In his 106th year, he was the county's oldest man. He was born in Cloughmore on March 3, 1912, to John and Ellen Kilbane, and was the youngest of seven children
Deepest sympathy is tendered to the Kilbane family on their loss. Anthony was predeceased by his wife, Mary, some years ago and they had five children.
His remains will be reposing at the Sacred Heart Hospital on Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. and at Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Achill Sound, from 4 p.m. with removal at 7.30 p.m. to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Derreens, arriving at 8 p.m.
Interment takes place in Glencoe Cemetery on Wednesday after Requiem Mass at 12 noon for the repose of his soul.
