Water outages affect Kiltimagh

A NUMBER of homes in the Kiltimagh area have been dealing with disruption to their water supply this weekend.

One customer, who has a young family, contacted The Connaught Telegraph and complained that their water has been off almost all weekend, with no notice given.

They lost their supply yesterday (Saturday) morning. It was restored, with low pressure, in the evening, but has been off again for most of today.

The Irish Water website reported that essential maintenance works were taking place yesterday and water treatment plant upgrades could affect water pressure to Kiltimagh and surrounding areas.

The works had an estimated completion time of 4.30 p.m. yesterday, later updated to 8 a.m. this morning (Sunday), but this afternoon Irish Water reported that the works had been extended and crews were working to restore supply as soon as possible.

Irish Water are also dealing with a burst water main at Treannagleragh, which is also causing supply disruptions.

Those repair works have an estimated completion time of midday tomorrow (Monday).
