Aoibhinn says RTÉ should have shown Nicky's swim live

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny's daughter, Aoibhinn, has joined a chorus of protest over RTÉ's failure to broadcast an Olympic Games swimming heat featuring Nicholas (Nicky) Quinn.

She launched a strong attack on the national broadcaster on her Twitter account, describing it as 'an absolute sham'.

Like Aoibhinn, Nicky is a native of Castlebar and the pair are long-standing friends.

Ms. Kenny said it was 'poor form' from the station after it did not air Nicky's win in the second heat in the 200m breaststroke.

She said she got more information on the race from her Olympics app than she did from the 'passing mention of him' on RTÉ.

Despite winning the heat yesterday, Nicky missed out on the next round by 0.4 of a second.
