New adventure festival to make a big splash in castlebar

Love Lannagh - a brand new water sports and adventure festival - is scheduled to take place on Saturday (April 25) at Lough Lannagh, Castlebar.

The event is being organised by the voluntary organisation Love Castlebar, and they're calling on everyone to join the adventure.

Kicking off at 1 p.m. and continuing until 6 p.m., the festival is jam-packed full of serious fun - and it's all free. Try your hand at one of the many water sports on offer, take on the orienteering challenge, join the adventure game zone or jusk kick back and enjoy the groovy tunes and finger-licking food in the beautiful festival chill-out area.

Speaking on behalf of Love Castlebar, Helen O'Hara said: “Lough Lannagh is the most incredible amenity in Castlebar but many people will never have been on it or in in before. We want to change that!

“If you are up for getting afloat on the day it's a good idea to pack a change of clothes, just in case.”

The teddy bears will be having a picnic between 2 and 4 p.m. so make sure to get all the little ones to the kids zone beside the playground, where treasure will be hunted, faces will be painted and dances will be danced.

In addition to those mentioned, the Love Lannagh line-up of activities includes kayaking, canoeing, raft racing, stand-up paddle boarding, kite surfing demos, gourmet munchies and a few surprises. It promises to be a great day down by Lough Lannagh.
