Blue sky over Dugort beach in Achill this week

Suns shining but it wont last much longer

The sun is splitting the stones out there again today but the advice is to make the most of it as there's a change a-coming in the weather.

Met Eireann are forecasting that while it will be dry in many areas at first tomorrow, rain will spread northwards during the afternoon, turning persistent for a time. Brighter conditions with scattered showers will follow later.

The weather is predicted to be unsettled and showery for the weekend and early next week, with temperatures taking a dip too.

The Met service prediction is that the early days of next week 'will continue changeable and unsettled, with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. A cold regime, with temperatures below normal for late April, with some frosts at night. Showers are likely each day, some heavy and with some hail'.
