Five figure drugs seizure in ballina

DRUGS  with an estimated street value of more than €10,000 have been discovered in a planned garda raid in the Ballina area .

The drugs involved were mostly cannabis.

One man was arrested, questioned and was later released. A file is to be prepared for the DPP.

Drugs raids by gardai in north Mayo have been ongoing in recent weeks.

Earlier this month what was described as “a significant quantiy of drugs” was discovered during planned raids in the Ballina, Foxford and Crossmolina areas.

The raids were carried out as part of the Force's ongoing 'Operation Aimsir'.
