Dramatic late recovery secures replay

SEVEN points down with seven minutes to go, Mayo looked dead and buried in their All-Ireland semi-final against Dublin in Croke Park this afternoon. However, a dramatic late recovery and a goal from the penalty spot by Cillian O'Connor produced a stunning draw.

Trailing by 1-7 to 0-7 at half-time, Mayo's over-reliance on Cillian O'Connor, who scored six of those points, suggested they weren't firing on all cylinders.

However, in the last 10 minutes of the game Mayo moved up a gear as Dublin seemed to lose their way, Stephen Cluxton particularly at fault.

It was a foul on Colm Boyle which resulted in the penalty, which opened the way back for Mayo.

An injury-time point from Andy Moran was the score which secured the replay for Mayo next Saturday.

Final score: Dublin 2-12, Mayo 1-15
