Castlebar retailer wins ShelfLife National C-Store 2016 Award

IRELAND’S top retailers and brands gathered recently at Dublin’s Ballsbridge Hotel for the ShelfLife National C-Store Awards 2016.

Now in their 16th year, the awards are the only comprehensive and independently judged business accolades for the convenience store sector.

Mulroy’s Londis, Castlebar, was honoured on the night as one of Ireland’s finest retailers when it won the Cuisine de France Bakery Award 2016.

Together with master of ceremonies Marty Whelan, ShelfLife welcomed 350 guests from across the industry to present 35 awards, celebrating the industry’s finest stores and people in a diverse range of categories.

ShelfLife publisher John McDonald said the 2016 C-Store Awards programme marked 'a new watershed in Irish convenience retailing standards'.

He added: “The level of improvement, particularly in the smaller stores, illustrates just how hard retailers are working to give their customers great service and a quality shopping experience.”

Congratulating the Castlebar store, Conor Hayes, Londis sales director, said: “We would like to extend our congratulations to the team at Mulroy’s Londis on winning this prestigious national title. It is their relentless drive and ambition that sets them apart from their peers in a marketplace which is already internationally recognised as setting the standards in convenience retailing.

“The store and staff are very deserving of this industry accolade and they are great champions for the Londis brand.”
