New deli as business expands

AFTER three years in business, De Búrca Butchers, Main Street, Castlebar, have expanded their business to include a delicatessen.

As part of the development, an oven has been installed and the aroma of freshly baked dough bread wafts onto the street.

The business is run by Sean Bourke and his wife Sarah Ní Shúilleabháin from their butcher shop, which was originally run by Martin McHale.

The deli includes an array of top quality local products as well as their own cooked meats, Anam coffee and homemade soups.

They stock Tibal Foods sauces and dressings, Ed Hick’s bacon jam, Spice of Life sauces and marinade, Mossfield natural yoghurt, Velvet Cloud sheep milk, Apple Farm juices, Clew Bay Cookies, Achill Salt, Green Saffron sauces, and Janet’s Just Delicious pasta sauces.

Having just been presented with their third McKenna food award, Sean and Sarah look forward to developing the deli over the coming months.
