€165,000 funding for Mayo islands

FUNDING in the amount of €165,000 has been approved to three Mayo islands, Minister of State Michael Ring has confirmed.

Funding of €112,500 has been approved to Clare Island for roads. A further €15,000 has been approved to Inishturk for the design and costings for a helipad, with €37,500 approved to Inishbiggle for a basket stone wall to give extra protection to the pontoon.

“I warmly welcome this funding injection for Clare Island, Inishturk and Inishbiggle. This funding will be used for very worthwhile projects on the islands,” said Minister Ring.
