Rochford allays Colm Boyle injury fears

MAYO manager Stephen Rochford has allayed fears that influential defender Colm Boyle could miss the All-Ireland SFC final on September 17.

The Davitts ace left the dressing room yesterday evening with heavy strapping on an ankle injury, having been substituted in the 69th minute.

Rochford said he expected the player to make a quick recovery after medical treatment and rest.

There are also concerns over Diarmuid O'Connor and Donal Vaughan after both of them incurred hamstring injuries.

Rochford admitted that O'Connor came into the game with a strain, but he felt both players will recover in time for the decider, Mayo's fourth appearance in an All-Ireand final in the space of six years.
