Deaths in Mayo over Christmas period

IT is with deep regret we record the deaths of the Mayo people who died over the Christmas period. May their gentle souls rest in peace. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved families.

Michael Molloy, 52, West Berteau, Chicago, and Cappaduff, Tourmakeady.

Son of Sadie and the late Sean, he was brother of Kathleen (Willie) Feeley, Ina (Jimmy) Gibbons, Tom (Bernadette), Deirdre (John) Gallagher, Sean (Rosaleen), and Noel (Therese).

James Cafferkey, better known as "Jimmy Dan", Castlehill, Ballycroy.

Bridget Duggan, Partry

Bridget (Bridie) Duggan, (née Hennelly), Sean Treacy Avenue, Thurles, and formerly Tooreen, Partry.

She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) and son John.

Bridie is survived by her daughters Ann, Margaret and Mary, sons Liam, Tony, Martin and Michael, sisters Peg McLoughlin, Sarah McAndrew and Anne Corbett, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters in law, son in law, sisters-in-law Kitty Grant and Nancy Hennelly, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Seamus Moran, Distillery Court, Westport, and late of Wembley, London, and Collanmore Island, Kilmeena.

Predeceased by his parents James and Kate, brothers Michael Joe and Peter, and sister Margaret Mary. He is regretted by his loving sister Kathleen Delargey (Galway), nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends

Catherine (Kitty) Murphy (née McWalter), Coolcun, Scarduane, Claremorris.

She is survived by her daughters Bernie, Ann, Tina and Joan, sons Gerry and Jimmy, sister Nora, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Kitty was predeceased by her husband Paddy, son PJ and daughter Patricia.

Declan Davitt, Curradavitt, Killadoon, Louisburgh. Tragically, following an accident on Christmas Day. Predeceased by his sister Kathleen.

Loving son of Walter and Mary-B (née Morrison), and special brother to Christopher (Castlebar), Mary (O'Malley) and Patricia (Curradavitt).

Also deeply mourned by his brother-in-law Chris, Christopher's partner Fiona, nephews and nieces David, Chloe, Vanessa, and Lizzy, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours, and a large circle of friends.

 

Martin Needham, Louisburgh

Martin Needham, Aillemore, Killadoon, Louisburgh. Tragically, following an accident on Christmas Day. Loving son of Pat-Joe and Breege (née Ferrins) and special brother to Olivia Needham-Kearney (Murrisk), Patricia (Lucan), Catriona Lavelle (Keenagh, Crossmolina) and Elaine Keane (Labane, Galway).

He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Anthony Kearney, Martin Lavelle, and Donal Keane, nephews and nieces Darragh, Rachel, Dylan, Sarah, Laura, and Sam, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours, and a large circle of friends.

Paddy O'Brien, Ballina

Paddy O'Brien, Moy Orchard, Belleek, Ballina.

Aged 15, he died peacefully at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin.

Adored son of Pat and Nuala and cherished big brother of Maria, Rachel, Brona, Lily, Lucy and Jack. He is also deeply mourned by his aunts, uncles, cousins, carers, and many friends.

Domnick Duffy, Mountain, Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, and formerly Erritt, Carrowbehy, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. Sadly missed by his wife Agnes.

 

Mossie Jennings, Castlebar

Mossie (John) Jennings, Rocklands, Castlebar (retired E.S.B.). In his 92nd year, very deeply regretted by his brother Harry, sisters-in-law Kathleen and Bridie, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
