Passing of widely respected Erris personality

THE death has taken place of Michael Carey, better known as Mickey, Glencullen Lower, Bangor-Erris, Ballina.

A member of a much-loved and respected family, the deceased was a former Bord Na Mona employee and was closely associated with Kiltane GAA Club for many years, both as a player and official.

Widely popular in the community, he will be sadly missed by his wife Anne, son Damien (Galway), daughters Sandra Kennedy (Ballina) and Ruth Donohue (Glencullen Lower), daughter-in-law Caroline, sons-in-law Lorcan and Martin, grandchildren Grace, Evie, Hugh, Oisin, Finn and Alfie, brothers Tony and Kevin (Lucan), Tommy (Luton, UK), John (Galway) and Hughie (Belmullet), sisters Mary Carey (Bangor-Erris), Breege Cafferkey (Belmullet), Ann Carey (Leitrim), Kathleen Carey (Leixlip) and Teresa O'Connor (Galway), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, neices, relatives, friends and neighbours, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

His remains will be reposing at Daly's Funeral Home, Bangor-Erris, tomorrow (Saturday) from 5 until 8 p.m.

Funeral will arrive to The Church of The Sacred Heart, Bangor-Erris, on Sunday for Requiem Mass at 12.30 p.m. with burial afterwards in Bangor-Erris Cemetery.
