Mayo crash victim Ricky Langdon is laid to rest

AMID scenes of tremendous sorrow, the funeral of Ricky Langdon, one of two young men killed in a road accident on Monday night last, took place today in Ballina.

Large numbers of mourners joined the cortege from St. Patrick’s Church to Leigue Cemetery.

The 28 year-old’s closest relatives, his wife, Catherine, son, Jayden and parents Tony and Jacqueline occupied front pews in the packed church.

Other leading mourners included his grandfather, John, and his brothers and sisters, Edward, Anthony, Jamie, Mona, Shannon and Jack.

The funeral of Jack O’Hora from Castleconnor, Ballina, who also died in Monday night’s tragedy, was laid to rest yesterday in Killanley Cemetery following Requiem Mass in St. Muredach’s Cathedral.

Priests of Ballina parish have expressed their deepest sympathy with the families of both deceased and have wished a third young man who survived the accident a full recovery.
