Gardai investigating tragic west Mayo death

Gardaì in Mayo are investigating the tragic death of a 25-year-old man in Newport earlier today.

His body was discovered at around 1.30 a.m. at Quay Road in the town.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body was removed to Mayo University Hospital where a post mortem took place this afternoon.

It is understood the man suffered a fall and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
