Quit with help from stop smoking clinics

WITH Ash Wednesday just around the corner, you may be thinking of what you're going to give up this Lent.

If cigarettes are top of your list come Ash Wednesday (March 6), you'll be delighted to hear that the HSE's Health Promotion and Improvement Service is delivering smoking cessation clinics in Mayo.

This smoking cessation service will be available to people who would like support to quit smoking. The service will be provided in Ballina, Castlebar and Claremorris initially and it is hoped to develop it further later in 2019.

A trained health promotion practitioner can meet on a one to one basis and guide people through the tobacco cessation support programme.

The phone number to make an appointment for the stop smoking support service is (087) 3837895. You can also freephone the national QUITline on 1800 201 203 or visit www.QUIT.ie for more information.
