Young Sports Stars of the Year Award winner No. 22: Conor Heneghan

Next we go to Roundfort and the sport of darts as we continue with the Merit Award winners at our Young Sports Stars of the Year Awards.

Twenty-year-old Conor Heneghan from Roundfort was a member of the successful Republic of Ireland youth squad that won the European Cup four years ago in Denmark.

He won gold in the team event and silver in the pairs - which was a first for not just Conor, but also a first for the Irish youth boys team.

Conor is now a very prominent member in the Mayo men's county darts squad – and it's not easy for a young player to make the transition to senior. Conor also competes in the South Mayo League with his local team Lyons'.

Away from the oche, he was also a member of the Ballinrobe Community School team which won a schools All-Ireland senior title two years ago.
