Passing of former Castlebar Town Council worker

THE death has taken place at his residence of Edward (Eddie) Bartley, McHale Road, Castlebar.

A retired member of the outdoor staff of Castlebar Town Council, he was widely known in the community through his work as a street-sweeper.

An affable and popular personality, news of his passing has evoked an immense sense of loss in the town, where he was held in such high regard.

The deceased was a former member of the printing staff of The Connaught Telegraph.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Bartley family on their loss.

He is deeply regretted by his brothers George, Patrick, Christy and John, sisters Josie, Teresa, Phil and Christina, uncles, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends

His remains will be reposing at The Coady Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7.30 with removal at 9 p.m. to The Church Of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar, via Mc Hale road.

Requiem Mass takes place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in the Old Cemetery, Castlebar.
