Chair of Mayo Ladies GAA Board responds to speculation

THE chairperson of Mayo Ladies GAA County Board has revealed she is not stepping down from her position when the board holds its February county board meeting on Tuesday night despite speculation to the contrary.

Over the past number of weeks and months a number of issues relating to the board have been raised by clubs and this has caused some ill feeling between board members and delegates from around the county.

At the Mayo County Board annual meeting which was held recently a number of new faces were appointed to the top table and Yvonne McEvilly retained her position at chairperson of the organisation.

In a statement issued to The Connuaght Telegraph, she explained the speculation that she is stepping down is inaccurate.

“All the members of the executive are working together for one reason, that's the continued promotion of Ladies Gaelic football in Mayo,” she stated.
