Six Mayo projects secure €313,000 in Leader funding
The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring, has confirmed that he has approved €313,000 in Leader supports for projects in Moorehall, Westport, Aghagower, Mulranny, Kilmaine and Louisburgh.
The following projects have been approved for funding:
Minister Ring said: “This is a major announcement which will provide a significant boost for these six communities. I am delighted to announce this funding through my department’s Leader Programme.
“This brings to over €650,000, the amount of Mayo Leader projects which I have announced since last week.
“The redevelopment of Moorehall and its gardens is really taking off and is being supported with significant government investment. In the last two years I have announced more than €350,000 for the project.
“The Moorehall estate comprises 80 acres of woodland estate including the house, courtyard and walled garden.
“I’m also delighted to announce significant funding for projects in Westport, Aughagower, Mulranny, Kilmaine and Louisburgh.
Minister Ring concluded: “Leader funding provides invaluable support to a wide variety of community and enterprise initiatives in Mayo. I have now announced over €7 million in funding for 158 LEADER funded projects in the county.”
