Funeral of Mayo boy (6) who died in tragic road accident

"There are no words that can express the sadness of losing such a precious little boy."

The funeral arrangements have been announced for Cian Rowland, Deerpark, Crossmolina, who tragically lost his life yesterday in a road traffic accident, casting a shadow of sorrow and grief across the entire county.

Aged six years, he was beloved son of Noel and Leona Rowland and cherished brother of Norah, Micheál and Sinéad.

He is also deeply mourned by his grandparents Julia Rowland and Carmel and Mickey Lavelle, his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandaunts, granduncles, his school friends, teachers, SNAs, his personal assistant Tara relatives, kind neighbours and his many friends, to whom heartfelt sympathy is tendered.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Fergus Rowland and his aunt Sinéad Rowland.

People are joining on social media to extend condolences to the bereaved family.

One stated: "Our hearts are broken for you all.

"There are no words that can express the sadness of losing such a precious little boy.

"Please know that our family is thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers during this unimaginable time."

Cian will repose at Hiney's Funeral Home, Crossmolina, tomorrow (Tuesday) from 5 until 8 p.m.

Funeral will arrive to St. Tiernan”s Church, Crossmolina, on Wednesday for Mass of the Angels at 1 o clock.

Burial takes place afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery.
