GAA poised to probe incident during Mayo's win over Roscommon

REPORTS are emerging today that the GAA is to investigate a controversial incident in last night's Allianz National League match between Mayo and Roscommon in Castlebar.

The incident relates to video images circulating on social media which show Roscommon player Donie Smith making contact with one of Mayo defender Keith Higgins' eyes with his hand during a tackle, to which Higgins reacted angrily.

When interviewed in the immediate aftermath of the game the two team managers, James Horan and Anthony Cunningham, said they could not comment because they did not see what happened.

However there is expected to be developments in the case in the coming days.
