Irish call-up for talented Mayo golfer

YOUNG Ballyhaunis golfer Andrew Hickey has been selected to play for Ireland in the Fairhaven Trophy in the UK this weekend.

The competition is played over three days, starting tomorrow (Thursday).

When he returns to Ireland on Monday, Andrew is off to the Royal Golf Club in County Down to play in the Irish Amateur Open where players from all over the world taking part.

A member of Ballyhaunis Golf Club and a fifth-year student at St. Louis Community School in Kiltimagh, Andrew has a busy summer ahead playing in Under-18 and amateur events all over the globe.
