Death of member of old Castlebar business family

THE death has occurred of Fiona (Fiana) McEllin, 19 Maryland, and late of Main Street, Castlebar.

A member of an old and respected family which had been involved in the business life of the town for many years, her passing is deeply mourned in the community.

A nurse by profession, Fiona was a daughter of the late Danny and Ann McEllin, Main Street, Castlebar, and a brother of the late Donal McEllin.

She is survived by her family Sinead (Cork), Tom (New York) and Orna (Castlebar), son-in-law Seamus O'Brien (Cork), brother John (Balla), sister Margaret (Dundalk), brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is extended.

Her remains will be reposing at her residence on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Removal takes places on Friday at 12 noon for Requiem Mass at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, at 1 p.m. with interment afterwards in the New Cemetery.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
