16.35: Speaking to Stephen Kerr’s supporters, it’s evident his number twos are heading in the direction of Aontú’s Paul Lawless. According to the tallies, it will be a sizeable chunk of over 3,000.

The Lawless camp is also confident of receiving number twos from Sinn Féin’s Gerry Murray. Party Aontú spurred from Sinn Féin and geographically, both are in east Mayo - both in favour of Lawless.

The transfer of votes from Chris Maxwell is also under much discussion. The Independent Ireland candidate saw his support in Westport drop from 1,800 first-preference votes in the locals to just 800 today. He is gene pool Fianna Fáil and may well see his vote return, but tally folk on the floor speculated that it was heading more to Patsy O’Brien, Paul Lawless and Stephen Kerr, or better described as an anti-establishment vote.
